‘The big difference between madness and genius is the capability to communicate your madness to others. Quote by Chris Mosely, 1994.
I created this quote in 1994, and my business partner during those times thought it was great and published it on a quotation site which has long since vanished back into the electronic nothingness from which it came – as did he it seems, but that is a totally different story better left for another blog. The quote has popped up again and now and I felt it was about time that I described it a little more So just what do I mean by this record?
Where they request the question ‘Hitler Madman or Evil Genius have the history channel Have be ever seen by you? I’ve always wanted to examine this further and locate a easy method to identify once and for many between madness and genius. As you might mad men streaming feel It’s actually much less easy. How do we tell if someone is just plain old fashioned mad, or an unrecognized genius? That’s qualified to make such judgments? Is it actually possible? My quote merely states that master is the capability to communicate ‘Madness’ to others – all kinds of conventional madness. In a way this identifies a new type of Madness, as against the conventional everyday madness we all know and understand. It’s like an illness, you’re infecting others together with your madness, and the more people you invade, the more master like attributes you assume. They are afflicted by You through conversation.
Thus, my quote fundamentally says that if a person’s Madness is not conveyed effectively/successfully to culture at large, it’s likely that society can consider them angry, in the traditional sense. Chaos in the traditional sense is comparable it depends upon what the most people consider to be typical behavior – ‘it’s the tyranny of the masses ‘, quote by Alexis delaware Tocqueville. There is no absolute frame of reference in which you may call someone normal and another person mad. That makes for a fascinating set of results for me. I live in a world in which many good thoughts are crushed into dust because they aren’t efficiently conveyed and assimilated by the significant handling mob.
To me Madness/Genius is a pair of major ideas or methods connected with a person. The concepts need to be a departure from what is the currently considered view of reality. In this, the danger lies. These new concepts upset the status quo, they take down places, they redistribute prosperity and resources, they remove shortage or develop new lack, they make people behave in odd and unknown methods, they change people’s status and how they also view themselves, and they could cause great harm… and so we typically do not want to accept them easily. They ostensibly come with an advanced level of interruption and risk.
Let us say you’ve a radical thought, a life-altering idea and you have the certainty and confidence to start telling people about this. Now you can actually be regarded as a madman or perhaps a master – in the traditional sense. The jury is still from you. You’ve to communicate your madness/genius to others. Folks have to determine what you’re saying they have to be convinced that your principle is plausible in some way. Maybe even reasonable. That does not mean your principle is really correct the so-called ‘reality’ would depend on some overall framework of right-and-wrong, which does not exist as much as I am conscious.
We are not referring to the fact here (or the precise character of reality itself) but rather the individual psychological experience of understanding (agreeing with something). It’s that moment when an individual finally throws claims and there arms up into the atmosphere, almost in surrender they finally realize anything. I think that the mind in complete exhaustion, having looked at the problem from as many different angles as is virtually possible (or having been compelled to do so), gradually releases substances, which offer you a feeling of ‘understanding. That is it for me personally. It enables the individual animal to make products, useful abstractions that can be put on make predictions, useful predictions used to stay alive or succeed. It becomes very hard to alter that person’s view from that moment onwards after you have this compound reaction.
In the end how effectively you communicate your methods and generate these chemical reactions in other people’s brains can determine whether you’re considered crazy in the traditional sense. Develop the capability to communicate your major ideas and methods correctly and you’re well on your own method to becoming a genius. Come up with major life altering concepts, but communicate them badly and you’re likely to be tortured, put in prison or murdered!
The interesting thing about conversation is that it comes in many different kinds. It could be both verbal and non-verbal. It could be body language, everything you wear, how you walk, whom you associate with, the group and designs you’re linked to. It could be delivered by people besides you in return for a few type of concern, or via various forms of coercion. Consider exactly what a physician or a judge or a policeman conveys when they wear their respective uniforms and how this influences culture. Connection can be non-violent, chaotic, provocative, scary, splendid, amusing, sad and painful. It could generate any mental state you like if done correctly. It can involve both physical and mental features.
Human experience and history is littered with types of how to communicate correctly and efficiently. You are able to do it through lovely words, demonstrations and works of art or literature. You are able to do it with sympathy and love improving everyone’s experience of life and lifting mankind up. However you may also do it by using oppression, violence and hate. It is possible to drive mankind to the depths of despair and enduring. In a relativistic universe, whose judgments are we to follow. Mankind as a whole didn’t occur into existence with a pre-defined set of objectives. There is no pre-built measure of success for the people as a whole, we have had to produce it for ourselves. In this way we are not capable of evaluating what pulls us up, and what drags us down and herein lies yet another major problem for us all.
A Historic instance that comes to mind is The Spanish Inquisition. The ‘Insane’ were burnt alive and tortured. The inquisitors were thought to have the keys to all information, fundamental and a comprehension of reality itself. They were the absolute arbitrators of right and wrong truth and falsehood. From the current perspective we can clearly see that’s mad in the traditional sense, however the more important point here is, can we see how we are doing exactly the ditto today. When we make reference to the ‘current perspective’ what we are really discussing is the collective agreement of the most people living today (or the people we worry about – individuals with power and influence – people who are respected and thought proficient). Nothing has fundamentally changed with regards to the way the human animal works considering that the days of the inquisition. What’s developed is our collective type of the universe, it’s possibly more practical, predictable and ‘beneficial. Notice I am purposely not saying, more accurate – not any closer to the’ reality’ always. No closer to meeting the human events collective goal – whatever that ultimately ends up being.
The controversy continues. Thus, go forth and share the madness in good enlightened an and enjoyable way (or do not it’s your choice), but tread carefully. Your madness may possibly wind up changing mankind forever. Record is littered with the corpses of people we contemplate geniuses today, however in their own time were considered ridiculous madmen. They were tortured, ostracized, vilified and every other ‘ized’,'ied’ or ‘ured’ you could imagine. People became legends, immortalized in human history the stuff of legend.
One of many most well-known people put to death for their major ideas (or just because they irritated too many people is the Greek thinker Socrates. I’ve an agreement reminder of Socrates on my desk at work in the type of a little marble bust. It’s gazing at me right now as I write this, peering through at me from the electronic nothingness it feels as if he’s grinning at me through the cold rock somehow imbuing the in-organic white rock together with his life force.
